Days 1/2 - Los Angeles/En Route
Fly from Los Angeles to Australia. En route, cross the International Date Line and lose a day. (Meals Aloft)

Day 3 - Sydney/Cairns
Arrive Sydney and connect to Cairns, where you are escorted to your luxury hotel in the center of Cairns. A sleepy town just a decade ago, it is now a vibrant city of over 100,000 people. The rest of the day is yours to relax beside the large, lagoon swimming pool or explore the city. OASIS RESORT. (B Aloft)

Day 4 - Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary/Daintree Rainforest National Park
Breakfast at the award-winning Rainforest Habitat Sanctuary and then take the boardwalks through the canopy and rainforest floor, providing an exhileratingly close view of the flora and fauna including Boyd's forest dragon, Eclectus Parrot and green tree frog. Discover the mysteries of the 110-million-year-old Daintree Forest. On your Daintree River cruise, you may see tree kangaroo, flying fox, cassowary, dragon lizard and saltwater crocodile. There are over 455 bird species here, including the Little and Azure Kingfisher. Stretch your legs on a guided stroll of Mossman Gorge with its crystal-clear water cascading over smooth granite boulders. The varied terrain of the Gorge provides for an incredible wilidlife sighting and birding. OASIS RESORT. (B,L)

Days 5/6 - Great Barrier Reef/Cairns
Board the Ocean Spirit, a high-speed luxury catamaran, for a full-day exploration of the Great Barrier Reef and Michaelmas Cay. This 1,260-mile coral reef contains at least 1,500 species of fish, 350 types of hard coral, 5,000 varieties of mollusk, along with thousands of invertebrates and diverse birdlife, ranging from screeching Sooty Tern to Common Noddy. An informative talk on the reef is followed by guided snorkeling. You may also choose to scuba dive (at additional cost). Stop for a fascinating birding experience at Michaelmas Cay where huge flocks create an interesting symphony of sounds while feeding their young. Enjoy lunch and teas aboard before returning to Cairns in the evening. The next day is free to enjoy Cairns as you choose. A trip to the tiny mountain hamlet of Kuranda is available (at additional cost). Travel back to Cairns at treetop level on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway with a stop at the cultural heritage complex, home of the world-renowned Tjapukai Aboriginal Dance Theatre. OASIS RESORT. Days 7/8/9 - Brisbane/Lamington National Park
Fly to Brisbane and embark on your scenic drive to Lamington National Park. A myriad of color will greet you as a resident naturalist leads you through the resplendent rainforest. See a revueof vivid birds, including the Satin and Regent Bower, Pied Currawond, Crimson Rosella and King Parrot. Mammals are plentiful and you may see platypus and potoroo, but it is the brush-tailed and ring-tailed possum that nightly steal the show in the trees surrounding the guesthouse. The guides visit the tables each morning with alternative half and full-day guided walks and four-wheel drive trips for the day's activities. Day 10 - Brisbane/Sydney
Travel back to Brisbane and fly to Sydney, the oldest city in Australia. You are escorted to your hotel and the rest of your day is at leisure. THE FOUR POINTS HOTEL SYDNEY. (B)

Days 11/12 - Sydney

This morning, head to one of the world's premier performing art centers, the famous Sydney Opera House, for a guided tour. Cross the Harbour Bridge and drive to the Taronga Park Zoo for a behind-the-scenes tour. Take in the sights of the magnificent harbor on a luncheon cruise. The next day is free to explore Sydney on your own. An optional trip (at additional cost) is available to the Blue Mountains where you will see the world-famous rock formation - 'Three Sisters.' After a barbeque lunch in the Tree Fern Forest alive with the kookaburra, drop into a hidden valley seeking out wild kangaroo. THE FOUR POINTS HOTEL SYDNEY. Day 13 - Sydney/Los Angeles
Return to the airport for your flight to Los Angeles, re-crossing the International Date Line and regaining your 'lost' day, arriving in Los Angeles on the same day, earlier than when you left Sydney. (B, Meals Aloft)

Glimpse Ayer's Rock - a giant phoenix of red sandstone rising from the desert like a terrestrial beacon on a Pre-Extension that includes a glimpse into the Aboriginal culture and Alice Springs, the springboard to the outback where you will experience life on a working cattle station. The magical islands of New Zealand come alive on a Post-Extension to discover its rich heritage of cultures and the geological wonders created by ancient glaciers and volcanoes.
