Frigatebirds: Great and Magnificent are two different species of Frigatebirds on the Galapagos 15. Although they are located throughout the tropical oceans, you can get the closest to them in the Galapagos. The Magnificent forages for fish from the sea for long periods of time while the Greats are more coastal, although both catch most of their food in their wing. Males have a large and impressive red gular sack that takes about a half hour to fill up into a heart shaped balloon in hopes to attract a female. It is very eye-catching and allows you to spot them rather easily.
