Replanting Patagonia

Deforestation is an ever growing problem and a common topic in the world of wildlife conservation, however, today the spotlight is on reforestation.  Reforestemos Patagonia is a non-profit, public-private initiative to bring back the trees to the beautiful Chilean Patagonia. Wildfires back in December of 2011 and January of 2012 devastated much of the Torres Del Paine National Park. During the first week of replanting the campaign received donations of 60,000 trees from businesses and individuals. Its a great start, but, according to Matias Rivera (executive director of Reforestemos Patagonia) they'll need more. All this is explained in this article.

Patagonia is filled with majestic wildlife and stunning scenery. The dramatic landscape is home to a diverse wildlife population including seals, penguins, foxes, ferrets and whales, just to name a few. Classic Escapes offers trips to Patagonia, Argentina where you can experience the beauty of this incredible landscape first-hand.
