Your adventure begins as you board your flight to Hawaii, the Land of Aloha! Upon arrival in Molokai, check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Your hotel is a genuine hideaway from all things mainstream, located on the exotic beach of Kamiloloa and adjacent to Hawaii’s only barrier reef. Today you’ll be transferred to the hospitality area on Molokai. Later, the Captain and crew greet you with smiles and champagne as you board the awaiting SAFARI EXPLORER, your home for the next seven nights. This 36-pasenger ship is well appointed and can navigate into wild areas other ships cannot. Lovingly called “the Bulldog,” she bops around the islands of Hawaii throughout the year soaking up the laid-back aloha spirit – weaving through the islands, ready for bow-riding dolphins. Aboard this boutique yacht, three public decks provide room for mingling, relaxing, and enjoying the fresh air – with exploration in the spotlight. No stop lights, no high-rises, just a welcome slower pace. ‘Talk story’ with locals and experience their land and traditions as few visitors ever do. You’ll hear legends and lore, then take in a cultural lesson in taro patches and poi making, or hike to a towering waterfall in Halawa’s cathedral valley – one of the island’s most historic places. Thousand-foot sea cliffs line the shore and ancient volcanic plugs sit both above and below the water’s surface as host to a wide diversity of marine life. Take a stroll to Sweetheart Rock, a sea stack jutting 80 feet a bove the crashing surf, and discover the legend of the princess Puu Pehe. This evening you’ll anchor at an offshore location for a thrilling night snorkel with Giant Pacific Manta rays.

As the SAFARI EXPLORER docks at Kawaihae Harbor, you’ll be transferred to your resort for one last day of relaxation before you return home. Located on a lagoon on the only sandy beach in the heart of Kona, your hotel offers a range of activities within walking distance, including a farmer’s market and ambler-friendly Ali’i drive. The décor is inspired by the landscape of Big Island with soft, sandy tones, greens of the forests, flowing patterns, and Polynesian tattoo designs. Cap off your stay with the hotel’s authentic evening luau as your farewell to this incredible paradise!

Hawaii has a semi-tropical weather pattern with temperatures ranging between 75° and 90° F year-round in the daytime, dropping by 5° or so at night. The weather is greatly influenced by the trade winds which provide a cooling effect. Topical rain showers can occur at any time of the year, but are more prevalent between November and February, which is technically the rainy season; however, the weather is so topical, that even if it rains in one area, it might be bright and sunny just a few miles away. Our Hawaii program operates between November through April.
