After breakfast, depart on your exploration of the beautiful coastal region of York, Ogunquit and Kennebunkport. Begin with a guided tour through The York’s with a stop at one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world, Cape Neddick Lighthouse, more popularly known as “the Nubble.” Set on a small island just a stone’s throw off the coast of the Town of York, the light and keeper’s house are on a small island surrounded by crashing waves. Continue to the lovely town of Ogunquit, named by the Abenaki Indians meaning “beautiful place by the sea.” Ogunquit evolved from a fishing village in Perkins Cove surrounded by farms to the bustling tourist destination it is today. Beginning in the late 19th century, fishermen brought their catch into the Cove. It didn’t take long for the first artists to arrive, drawn to the rugged beauty of the coastline. In the late 1920’s, the Ogunquit Art Association began organizing art education and exhibits and as the reputation of the summer art colony grew, word of Ogunquit’s beauty and lively lifestyle began to spread throughout the region. Here you’ll embark on a private cruise aboard a lobster boat, which combines the scenic beauty of Ogunquit’s shoreline with a first-hand lobstering experience. You’ll see traps hauled and lobsters caught by an authentic Maine lobsterman, along with commentary of the lobster fishery and the many scenic points of interest. Afterwards, you’ll have free time for lunch and then visit one of the area’s favorite micro-Breweries. This afternoon, return to Kennebunkport for a scenic drive along the ocean to Walker’s Point passing the summer home of past President George H.W. Bush. Check-out this morning and head north through pretty coastal communities arriving at Mount Desert Island in the early afternoon. You’ll have free time for lunch on your own. Afterwards, at an additional cost of $180 per person (currently and subject to change,) you may join an optional flight on an authentic 1930’s biplane for fantastic views highlighting Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain, historic lighthouses and more! Next, transfer to your hotel where you will have the balance of your day at leisure. This evening, you may enjoy local specialties, including lobsters, mussels, clam chowder and blueberry pie, for dinner on your own in town.

Your home for the next three nights is located atop a granite terraced hillside. Built in 1884 as the summer estate of Mrs. William Morris Hunt, the hotel features a spa (where you can book a treatment in advance), an indoor pool and fitness center. BLUENOSE INN.

Today is the day to take in everything Acadia National Park has to offer. This park is a direct result of the impact the last Ice Age had on the region. As a glacier receded over 18,000 years ago, it left behind the elongated mountains and lakes you’ll see today. During the course of your tour of the National Park, you’ll travel to the top of Cadillac Mountain (the highest point on the eastern seaboard) for spectacular views of Frenchman’s Bay, Porcupine Island and Bar Harbor. A special highlight today will be a whale watching and puffin cruise. Pass by Egg Rock and other Lighthouses, see magnificent summer homes, and look for whales, Bald Eagles, seals, porpoises and other marine life, as well as Puffins. BLUENOSE INN.
