Episode 10 – Dr. Laurie Marker & Dr. Bruce Brewer of the Cheetah Conservation Fund

Barry and Shannon speak with Dr. Laurie Marker – Founder and Executive Director of the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF), and general manager of CCF – Dr. Bruce Brewer. They talk all about cheetahs, from the differences between other cats to the threats of cheetahs. Laurie discusses about the programs and research that has been done at CCF.

Episode 9 – Dereck and Beverly Joubert

Barry and Shannon interview special guests – Dereck and Beverly Joubert. They are award-winning filmmakers, National Geographic Explorers-in-Residence, and wildlife conservationists, who have been filming, researching, and exploring in Africa for over 30 years.

Get the scoop on the Joubert’s latest docu-series, coming to PBS in October. They talk about the process of capturing the stories of nature on film and the terrifying ordeal of being attacked by a buffalo while shooting their latest project. Episode 8 – Yves van Kerrebroeck

Barry and Shannon go East with Yves van Kerrebroeck, Managing Director for Asian Trails Thailand. Listen to Yves’ life and tips about traveling in Bangkok, from floating markets to malls, and temples. There are interesting cultural traditions that may surprise you! Outside of the cities, you’ll find wonderful wildlife, including sun bear, Asian elephant, deer, gibbon, monkey, and more. Thailand hosts about 10% of the world’s mammals! Episode 7 – Robert Marks Moshi

Barry and Shannon go into the wild in Africa with Tanzanian native, Robert Marks Moshi, who is a guide for Classic Escapes. Robert has a unique story about his life and being taken in by Scottish missionaries at birth, and the stories of being Maasai. His expertise lies with wildlife, especially elephants, and has worked along side with Cynthia Moss in Amboseli National Park.

Episode 6 – Sue Chin from Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS)

Barry and Shannon go behind the scenes on national parks, including the five parks in NYC, with Sue Chin, Vice President of Planning & Design and Chief Architect for the WCS.

They focus on the Sharks! Exhibit at Coney Island’s New York Aquarium that Sue and her team have developed since 2004. Find out how Sue created this large enclosed exhibit for an underwater atmosphere, and how the sharks are transported into the tanks. The NY Aquarium is working the Spineless exhibit, and the Playquarium for the younger visitors.
