Episode 5 – GLOBIO and the Great Apes with Gerry Ellis

Barry and Shannon go around the world with Gerry Ellis and his work on the Apes Like Us project. Gerry is the founder of GLOBIO, a non-profit organization that works to connect species, people, and the planet.

Immerse yourself in the world of great apes (gorillas, orangutans, chimpanzees, bonobos, and humans) with Barry, Shannon, and Gerry, as they talk about the research results of our hominid relatives.

Episode 4 – iJourneys with Elyse Weiner

Barry and Shannon interview Elyse Weiner – an Emmy-award winning executive, producer, and journalist. She created iJourneys, which are audio guides to explore cities around the world. She is very fond of Rome in particular. They discuss virtual reality exhibitions of ancient remains, interesting facts about the Colosseum, and hidden places in Rome. Episode 3 – English Gardens with Steve Foltz

Barry and Shannon head to the United Kingdom and discuss the importance of English Gardens with Gavin Landry, the director of the US Branch of VisitBritain, and Steve Foltz – Director of Horticulture at the Cincinnati Zoo. They discuss popular and new gardens to visit, conservation efforts for the gardens, and the Chelsea Flower Show. Learn about the difference between botanical gardens, arboretum, and conservatories. Episode 1 – New York Undiscovered

The first episode of Been There, HAVEN’T Done That kicks off right at home – New York City. The show revolves around sights that are rarely known to tourists or even locals.

Professor Barry Goldsmith and Shannon Bennett dive into the underground world of NYC, starting with the unused subway stations and the beautiful art installations. Barry continues the discussion with good friend, Frank Morano about Chinatown’s “Bloody Angle,” the famous Freedom Tunnel under Riverside Park, the Nostalgia Train, Marble Cemeteries, the Lowline project, and the only catacombs in New York!

Shannon and Barry introduce Stacy Fiorentinos – President of Classic Escapes, and Director of Communications at Zoo Miami, Ron Magill, both New York natives. They discuss stories about their trips to Africa. The show is supported by Classic Escapes–a travel company, and Stacy explains the company mission and her conservation efforts.
